Last Thursday, 12/19/2024, The MacDaddy Took Its Final Journey...And It Was To The Salvage Yard. It was A Bitter/Sweet Day For Uncle Ricky!! I spent Thirteen & A Half (13 1/2) Fun Filled Years (And Some Not So Fun-Filled) Travelling The Middle/Southern USA, All The While Meeting NEW Folks & Visiting With Old Acquaintances Separated Only By Geography. It Was A Good Ride (Double Entendre)! Hopefully, Someone Will See The *BEAUTY* In This 1992 Silver Anniversary Special Foretravel aka "The MacDaddy"...Especially The Paint Job That I Designed. The Pink Ribbons Represented A Tribute To Susan Komen's Fight For The Defeat Of Breast Cancer & The Teal Ribbons Represented My Own SUCCESSFUL Fight With Prostate Cancer!! With All That Said, I Think Helene, Milton, & The SaltWater Surge May Have Caused Too Much Damage To Consider Refurbishing!
MY NEW JOURNEY!
Well, almost DONE! I Have Moved Everything From The MacDaddy Over To My New Apartment In Clearwater aka Estates At Countryside, Except For A Few Items I Still Have At The Rodeway Inn In Clearwater, Florida. My NEW SAMSUNG 65-Inch Class Crystal UHD 4K DU7200 Series HDR Smart TV & My 42" Samsung TV In The Bedroom Are Up And Running...Just Waiting For My Final Move, Hopefully, By This Weekend! FEMA Has Me Paid Up At The Motel Until 01/14/2025, So There Is No Hurry On Getting Things Put Away & Organized In My New Abode! And Yes, They Have A Modern, Full Size Gym Which I Plan On Taking Advantage Of After Getting Settled!
Fernando, My Fourteen (14) Year Old Cat & Travelling Partner Has Just Gotten Acclimated For The Third Time At My Present Temporary Residence & Will Have Another Adjustment At The Apartment...No Problem, He Is A Real Trooper! Maybe Then, He Can Get Back To Giving Me Periodic CAT SCANS...LOL!!!!
This Forced Change In Life/Lifestyle May Have Been A Blessing In Disguise Because I Was Contemplating Selling The MacDaddy & Moving Into An Independent Living Facility Due To Recent Health Complications, i.e., Major Open-Heart Surgery In May Of 2021 , Chronic Stage 3a Kidney Failure, & Several Other Issues Requiring My Daily Attention. After Visiting One Such Facility Post Helene, I Realized That I WAS NOT READY FOR THAT LIFESTYLE!!
In Closing, I Cannot Wait To Cook My Own Meal After Three (3) Months Of Microwave Meals At The Motel & Occasionally Going Out...Maybe A Steak, Or Cornish Hen, Or Enchiladas/Tamales, Chilaquiles, etc., At The New Place. Oh, By The Way, My Apartment Has Its Own Washer/Dryer...Something That I Have Missed For ALL THOSE YEARS!!
