ONE HELLUVA OF A DOC!
Yesterday, I had a "Come To Jesus Moment"!! I have been going to Coastal Veterinary Care for years NEVER having, nor acknowledging the EXEMPLARY CARE, COMPASSION, & PROFESSIONALISM of its Owner and ONLY VETERINARIAN DOCTOR...DR. TRACY MORRIS! This attitude permeates throughout her Staff, Nurses, & Technicians...KUDOS TO ALL!
Yesterday, I left my Fourteen (14) Year Old Cat, Fernando, for whom I am a Constant Slave at the Clinic for various tests, exams, etc. I asked if it was possible that I could pick him up at 3 PM because of the afternoon traffic which is crazy from my place of origin. They said that they would let me know with an early afternoon call. I got a personal call from Dr. Morris herself detailing the busy day, sick animals, etc. that the Clinic was dealing with, and that Fernando would not be ready until that evening. I simply sluffed it off as an INCONVENIENCE for me, exhibiting, in retrospect, a Cavalier/Selfish attitude on my part! She offered the information in such a professional/compassionate manner that I felt it incumbent upon myself to be more understanding of others!
I arrived at Coastal at approximately 06:45 PM and left with Fernando at approximately 07:45 PM. This was my "Come To Jesus" awakening regarding the TRUE CHARACTER OF DR. MORRIS! I was worried about my so-called valuable time as I witnessed this Veterinarian Doctor work into what had to be her Fourteenth (14th) or more hour of work, all the while exhibiting compassion, animal/owner bedside manner, etc., and I then felt like an UNGRATEFUL HEEL! This Lady/Doctor is a KEEPER and as such, I will not let Fernando go elsewhere for his care! She was very thorough with her explanation of Fernando's day and truly COMPASSIONATE! He is pretty much BLIND at this time in his life and my normally DOCILE cat acted up a bit awaiting his turn for care, but Dr. Morris and her staff were very understanding of the parameters dictating Fernando's unusual behavior! Folks, I do not measure-up to these folks but will try to improve after this experience!
In closing, let me reiterate that these folks are KEEPERS!! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Morris but probably will do it with the CAVEATE that she is already WAY TOO BUSY. My guess is that she will stay that way!
